RECORDS
In keeping with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 information privacy principles are observed. As part of providing a counselling service there is a need to collect and record personal information that is relevant to your service.
Client information is stored electronically and backed up, in keeping with best practice, records are retained for a period of 7 years from the time of last service, in the case of a child from the date the child reaches 18, after that the record is destroyed.
Request a Copy of Data: You have the right to request a copy of the data that we hold about you. Your first request for a copy of your personal data will be provided free of charge; subsequent requests will incur a reasonable fee.
Delete All Data: You have the right to request that we delete all data that we hold about you, and we must delete such data without undue delay. There are exceptions to this right, such as when keeping your data is required by law, such as your client records.
